Hannibal Thai
Message framing and pro-environmental behaviors

PhD Candidate (Social Psychology), BA (Hons, Psychology), The University of Queensland.

Hannibal Thai

How can message framing help promote pro-environmental behaviors?

In the effort to combat climate change, drastic behavior change is necessary. Certain behaviours, like meat eating, are deeply ingrained, but not well understood. In order to effectively communicate and modify behaviours, more research needs to be conducted in this area. I’m interested in the how pro-environmental messages are received by different groups in society, and how such messages can be re-framed to maximize attitude and behaviour change.

About Hannibal Thai:

I was born in Vietnam and moved to Australia to do my undergraduate degree in Psychology.  After doing my Honors in space identity, I stayed on with the Social Identity Group Network and worked as a research technician for Jolanda Jetten. After a few years of torturing unsuspecting first-years with cold water buckets, wall squats and hot chili, I decided to pursue my PhD.
