Jeswynn Yogaratnam is the NT Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, a human rights lawyer and DEI practitioner whose two-decade career spans law, government, academia, and community sectors. Shaped by his lived experience as the other—a queer, Malaysian-born person of Sri Lankan descent, Jeswynn brings a powerful, personal lens to structural inequity and social justice. His work focuses on transforming systems that marginalise, using law and policy as tools for healing and inclusion. He is currently leading the NT’s implementation of landmark positive duty reforms, which shift the focus from reactive compliance to proactive cultural change. Jeswynn’s leadership is grounded in empathy and fearlessness, challenging the very forces that create ‘otherness’ in our institutions and society.
